A defined interface to the overhead busway
Product Configuration
- Connection method: tool-free quick-connect / rotate / lock mechanism and rotary-stab electrical interface, as identified in the current client product documentation.
- Protective device: customer-specified breaker or fuse configuration, including approved options from ABB, Eaton, Schneider Electric, or Bussmann when confirmed for the specific build.
- Output arrangement: flexible whip, receptacle, connector, or other defined load connection.
- Metering: optional integrated measurement for voltage, current, and power when included in the project scope.
- Mechanical package: enclosure, access cover, operating interface, labeling, strain relief, mounting/locking features, and internal conductor/insulation supports.
Technical Design Considerations
Busway compatibility
Exact EAE system/model, conductor arrangement, plug-in opening, contact geometry, orientation, interlock, and mechanical locking dimensions.
Electrical configuration
Voltage, current, phase/neutral/ground arrangement, breaker/fuse type and frame, interrupting rating inputs, and load connection.
Thermal and enclosure conditions
device heat, conductor temperature, ventilation, clearances, enclosure material, installation orientation, and ambient limits.
Safety and operation
Insertion/removal procedure, load state restrictions, touch-safe barriers, door/cover access, labeling, and service sequence.
Monitoring interface
Meter type, CT or sensor requirements, display/cutout, communications, auxiliary power, and data access where applicable.
Verification responsibility
Compatibility, dielectric, temperature-rise, short-circuit, protective-device, and system approvals must be assigned and confirmed in the project scope.
RFQ Inputs
- Busway manufacturer, exact model/revision, plug-in interface drawing, voltage/current configuration, and installation orientation.
- Breaker/fuse manufacturer and model, output type, cable/whip/receptacle details, metering, quantity, and required verification documentation.
