Enclosure Product Families
Product Family
Current Technical Direction
Switchboard Enclosures
Incoming, bandage, utility or cam-lock incomers, ACB breaker sections, control cabinets, Pringle switch interfaces, and target NEMA Type 1 or 3R project requirements.
Panelboard Enclosures
MCCB breaker layouts, compact control units where required, trim/dead-front arrangements, cable space, and target NEMA Type 1 or 3R project requirements.
Busway/ Tap Boxes
Plug-in enclosures for the specific overhead busway system identified in the customer product documentation, with device, output, metering, and connection options confirmed per project.
Control Box Enclosures
Wall- or floor-mounted cabinets for terminal blocks, relays, HMIs, wireways, controls, and auxiliary equipment, with target NEMA Type 1 or 3R requirements where applicable.
Technical Design Considerations
Material and thickness
Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or customer-specified material; stiffness, weight, corrosion, weldability, and finish are reviewed.
Incoming arrangements
Frame, seams, bends, stiffeners, partitions, mounting plates, lifting points, and floor or wall support.
Component interfaces
Equipment clearances, mounting patterns, bus or cable entry, internal supports, gland plates, and field connection space.
Access and service
Door swing, removable panels, hinge and latch selection, interlocks, tool clearance, inspection access, and maintenance sequence.
Thermal management
Heat sources, ventilation, fan or filter provisions, heat dissipation, solar loading, and required temperature limits.
Environmental protection
Gasket paths, drain or breathers, corrosion exposure, dust, water, washdown, and finish requirements.
Grounding and bonding
Studs, continuity points, hardware, door bonding provisions, and customer grounding requirements.
Manufacturing control
Bend radii, weld sequence, distortion, flatness, cutout position, hardware insertion, coating allowance, and inspection points
RFQ Inputs
- Overall dimensions, equipment layout, mounting method, access requirements, and cable or bus entry direction.
- Material, thickness, finish, color, environmental conditions, and target enclosure type or IP requirement if applicable.
- Critical cutouts, clearances, door hardware, lifting, grounding, labels, and internal supports.
- Prototype or production quantity and any first-article inspection requirement.
Rating Language
A custom size or construction is not automatically NEMA or IP rated. Any rating, testing, listing, or labeling requirement must be confirmed in the project scope.
